Awesome video from youtuber BrianSanDiego1. Great perspective of some dune drags from a rarely scene perspective. Shot with a GoPro HD on a RC plane.
Keep them coming Brian!

Haven’t posted one of these in a while. This one was shot with the new GoPro HD Hero2 on a cloudy day though and shows off a little bit of it’s better lower light performance. I still want to see some darker stuff before I’m convinced on that. The video is VERY well done though. Great job.
Wasn’t expecting this today. GoPro has released it’s newest HD camera. The HD Hero 2. Sporting several new features but retaining the same $299 retail price point. The still camera has been upgraded from 5MP to 11MP. They claim “professional low light performance” and a very nice new feature is selectable FOV. Instead of being stuck at 17o degrees in 720p and 127 degrees in 1080p, you can now select between full 170, medium 127 and narrow 90 degree FOV in either 1080p or 720p mode.
Here’s a piece of the press release they sent out. If any of you get your hands on this, let us know about it!

The video they released to show it off is impressive but in most scenes doesn’t look any different from previous HD Hero cameras. The scenes as the sun is setting do show improved performance in those lighting conditions though. Check it out.
Another view I will never get to see except for on a screen. This is a time lapse of the space station as it orbits the earth. Amazing piece of video. No idea on the equipment used for this but it doesn’t matter. Just set it to full screen and watch.
People often ask me what editing software they should use. I took a little time the other day and wrote up some basic information of the most popular editing apps out there to give readers an idea what may work best for them. Head over to the forums and check out the post and feel free to add your two cents. That’s what the forums are for so register and get posting!
I’ve seen a couple of these now. Awesome footage. Nice testament to how durable these cameras are also. Check it out.
Stop motion legos with light sabers? Sounds good to me! An exceptionally well done piece by youtube user xxxfancypantsxxx. Congrats on earning Video of the Day here on SickVids.Net but I have a feeling the 4.5 MILLION hits on youtube means a little more at this point.
This is a great example of why I love GoPro cameras. They allow us to see things from angles we otherwise probably never would. Excellent rock crawling footage here. I especially liked the water crossing. Congrats to youtube user wayalife!
Congrats go out to Ryan Sheridan for being the very first SickVids.Net Video of the Day! I believe Ryan used Cinema 4D for the intro and AVS for the editing. Looks like mostly GoPro SD footage with some creative angles and editing. Great job Ryan!
Not exactly a “behind the scenes” but rather just a quick look at how a little attention to detail can really polish up a video. Embedded below you’ll see a video I created using GoPro HD cameras out at the Imperial Sand Dunes. This is a small series of videos I’m making with no commercial intentions. It’s just a fun way to commemorate an annual sand dune ride I attend. The video below this one takes a closer look at just a small piece of it where I erased all the original audio and replaced it with pre-recorded sound fx. It raises the quality of the presentation substantially and definitely worth the effort when you want to give your video a more professional vibe. The entire video, including the audio replacement, was edited with Adobe After Effects.
Here is the original video. The comparison vid is below it.
In this comparison vid you can see a little bit of color grading was done as well.
